• Notes

  For a period of time not yet established, Henry Darter was the sheriff of Wythe Co. He then moved on to Rogersville, Hawkins Co. Tn. shortly aft his marriage to a wife as yet unidentified by records. Hawkins Co. Tn. Deed Book 4 Page 355: Deed for a tract of land in in Stanley Valley Hawkins Co. Tn. Deed Book 15 Page 483 Dec 13 1836: Deed for for a parcel of land purchase price $1,000 From James NEELEY. The deed also mentions two brothers Andrew and Michael DARTER. He later became the Sherriff of Hawkins Co. Tn. Evidence: Hawkins Co. Tn. Deed Book 20 Page 465 Henry DARTER, Sheriff, to George M LONG, registered 27th May 1851 at 4pm This Indenture made and entered into between Henry TARTER, Shff, of the county of Hawkins and State of Tennessee of the one part and George M. LONG of the other part, Wittnesseth that whereas Wesley Ball Deceased on the 26th of July, Page 145... Henry was sheriff of Wythe County, Virginia and after moving to Hawkins County, Tennessee became sheriff there. Information here from Darter Book pg 26 I have another Henry Darter that I found in Washington Co. Ill married to Sarah Moore. In Box 48 in Washington Co Court house Henry Darter was married to Sarah A Darter (Moore) Daniel Hay was Adm. of estate of Henry Darter July 11, 1873 Rec'd of Daniel Hay adm. of estate of Henry Darter dec'd $3.12 for coffin for James Darter son James being one of the heirs of said Henry Darter dec'd signed Koyles and Brike March 18th 1874 Final Settlement for the Estate of Henry Darter dec'd was published in the Nashville Journal. April 29th 1874, Rec'd Nashville Ill. of Daniel HAy adm. of Estate of Henry Darter dec'd the sum of 82 cents in full of my one tenth part of the share of my deceased brother James Darters one nineth part of the $855.20 ordered to be distributed as proceed of real estate of said administrator after payments of expenses last sickness and funeral of said James Darter amounting to $---- which said sum due and received by me as heir ofsaid James DArter dec'd who was also a son and heir of Henry Darter Dec'd. signed John W. Darter April 30, 1874 Rec'd of Daniel Hay adm. of estare of Henry Darter dec'd the sum of $95.00 my distributive share of one ninth part of &855.20 proceeds of real estae sold by said adm. ordered distributed at the April Term 1874 of county court the same being rec'd by me in full of my claim for the same as a child of said Henry Darter dec'd ;and owner of one ninth of said land sold, as an heir of said dec'd. signed John W Darter April 30, 1874 Rec'd of Daniel Hay adm. of estate of Henry Darter Dec'c the sum of $95.00 my distributive share of one ninth part of $855.20 proceeds of real estate sold by said Administrator ordered to be disbursed at the April term 1874 of county court on final settlement of said estae, the same being due to and received by me as a child and heir of said dec'd. signed Henrietta DArter April 30, 1874 Rec'd of DAniel Hay Adm the sum of 82 cents in full of my share one tenth part of the distributive share of James Darter decd' in the $855.20 proceeds of real estate sold by said adm. disbursed by order of county court at the April term 1874 on final settlement of said estate, after payment of expenses of last sickness and funeral of said James Darter, which sum of received by me is due as heir of said James Darter now dec'd and who was a son and heir of Henry Darter Dec'd signed Henrietta Darter.
