- For a period of time not yet established, Henry Darter was the sheriff of
Wythe Co. He then moved on to Rogersville, Hawkins Co. Tn. shortly aft
his marriage to a wife as yet unidentified by records.

From James NEELEY. The deed also mentions two brothers
Andrew and Michael DARTER.
He later became the Sherriff of Hawkins Co. Tn.

Henry was sheriff of Wythe County, Virginia and after moving to Hawkins County, Tennessee became sheriff there.

I have another Henry Darter that I found in Washington Co. Ill married to Sarah Moore.
In Box 48 in Washington Co Court house Henry Darter was married to Sarah A Darter (Moore) Daniel Hay was Adm. of estate of Henry Darter
July 11, 1873 Rec'd of Daniel Hay adm. of estate of Henry Darter dec'd $3.12 for coffin for James Darter son James being one of the heirs of said Henry Darter dec'd signed Koyles and Brike
March 18th 1874 Final Settlement for the Estate of Henry Darter dec'd was published in the Nashville Journal.
April 29th 1874, Rec'd Nashville Ill. of Daniel HAy adm. of Estate of Henry Darter dec'd the sum of 82 cents in full of my one tenth part of the share of my deceased brother James Darters one nineth part of the $855.20 ordered to be distributed as proceed of real estate of said administrator after payments of expenses last sickness and funeral of said James Darter amounting to $---- which said sum due and received by me as heir ofsaid James DArter dec'd who was also a son and heir of Henry Darter Dec'd.

(this was her first birth) child name was Vivian Hazel Darter born 1-30-1893(Information from the Washington Co. Delayed births book)
